Stevenage is a town and borough in Hertfordshire, England. Roughly 30 miles north of central London, Stevenage is situated to the east of junctions 7 and 8 of the A1(M), and is between Letchworth Garden City to the north, and Welwyn Garden City to the south. On 1 August 1946, Stevenage was designated the United Kingdom’s first New Town under the New Towns Act.
Stevenage has a prolific economy and has occupants including GSK, Airbus Defence and Space, MBDA, Cobham, Stevenage Biosciences Catalyst, Fujistu, Eppendorf, Ultra Electronics and Institute of Engineering and Technology as well as a well the well established Lister Hospital.
